Central Tyria
The gods depart in the Exodus
After warring against the fallen god Abaddon, the Six Gods withdraw from the physical world, an event that fixes Year 0 of the Mouvelian calendar and opens the long age of human nations.
The gods of Tyria had given magic to the mortal races, but the gift sparked wars and the rebel god Abaddon was cast down. In the aftermath the gods turned away from the world they had shaped: the Exodus of the Gods marks the moment they ceased to walk among mortals. The Mouvelian calendar counts its years from this departure — "AE" meaning After the Exodus — making the Exodus the literal Year 0 of recorded human history.
With the gods gone, humanity was left to govern itself. The century that followed was remembered as a time of peace, invention, and trade in which the kingdoms of Kryta, Ascalon, and Orr emerged.
