In 1338 AE the Tyrian Alliance pursues the Inquest to Castora — a remote, ley-soaked island continent long dismissed as a sailors' myth — to stop them harnessing its abundant ley energy. The island lies behind a magical barrier the Seers raised in ages past.

Castora is an island continent out of Tyrian seafarers' stories — so remote it had long been thought inaccessible, or even nonexistent. Brimming with ancient magic, its landscape has warped the local flora and fauna in stunning ways, and a barrier raised by the Seers in ages past has kept it hidden and protected. A side effect of that barrier even shielded sylvari castaways on its shores from the Elder Dragon Mordremoth's call.

In 1338 AE, the Tyrian Alliance followed the Inquest to Castora to stop them from harnessing the island's abundant ley energy for nefarious purposes — opening the way to the island's seer conservatories and the mysteries its barrier had long kept from the world.
