The kodan weather the Dragonstorm in the far north
The bear-like kodan take refuge in the far north against the reign of the Elder Dragons, weathering the Dragonstorm of the previous dragonrise; one kodan tribe flees south, migrating toward Janthir and Orr.
The kodan, an intelligent polar-bear-like race from north of the Far Shiverpeaks, already existed at the time of the previous dragonrise. Their culture seems to have remained largely unchanged ever since, having weathered the Dragonstorm the rising dragons caused. Their northern sanctuaries — cities carved on icebergs in the arctic seas — date back to that last rising of the Elder Dragons.
While most kodan sheltered in the far north against the dragons' reign, one kodan tribe fled south, migrating toward Janthir and Orr. This early dispersal sits among the quieter survivals of the Age of Beasts, recorded in the journals and testimony the Wizard's Court and later scholars preserved.
