Corsairs gather into armadas and ignite the Second Great Corsair War in Elonan waters — a conflict that will run for decades and ultimately establish Istan as a maritime power.
Only two Great Corsair Wars are recorded in Elonan history; the second began in 982 AE (1182 DR) as the corsairs banded together into armadas. The war raged until 1016 AE, when Seamarshal Matoha defeated Lady Glaive's corsair armada in its final battle, establishing Istan as a maritime power.
After her loss, Glaive fled north to Tyria and was granted safe haven in the Shards of Orr by King Zoran of Orr — a thread that ties the corsair wars of the south to the doomed kingdom of Orr.
