The Foefire ends Ascalon

1090 AE1,600 CC1,290 DRFirm date

As the charr High Legions storm Ascalon City, King Adelbern unleashes the Foefire — a spell that destroys the city and binds its people as Ascalonian ghosts.

In 1090 AE the charr High Legions broke into Ascalon City in the Last Battle, ending generations of human-charr conflict in the kingdom. Rather than surrender his people, King Adelbern called upon the magic of his sword Magdaer and loosed the Foefire — an explosive spell that consumed friend and foe alike.

The blast destroyed Ascalon City and left the land haunted: the slain Ascalonians rose as ghosts, bound to defend their ruined homeland forever against the charr. The Foefire thus marked both the death of the human nation of Ascalon and the beginning of its restless, spectral afterlife.
