Emperor Usoku launches his campaign against the Kurzicks and Luxons, unifying Cantha under imperial rule and beginning a purge of non-humans and political rivals.
In 1127 AE Emperor Usoku began his war against the long-independent Kurzicks and Luxons, subjugating both and bringing all of Cantha firmly under the imperial throne. The unification ended the old factional autonomy of the Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea.
Usoku’s reign turned isolationist and brutal: he purged non-human races and political enemies and sealed the Empire off from the wider world. This closure cut Cantha off from Tyria for centuries, shaping the insular nation that the Guild Wars 2 era would eventually rediscover.
