Kralkatorrik turns toward Elona

Kralkatorrik, the Elder Dragon of Crystal and Fury known as the Crystal Dragon, stirs from the wastes and begins moving toward Elona. Because the Branded corruption that trails the dragon turns living flesh and stone alike to crystal, any shift in its course is a threat to the whole south.

The move is a quiet prelude to catastrophe. Within a few years the Crystal Desert and Elona would become the stage for the war that Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire dramatizes — the fallen god Balthazar raising a Forged army there, and, after his fall, Kralkatorrik gorging on the loosed magic and taking flight anew to carve a fresh Dragonbrand across the desert.
