The Pact Fleet is torn from the sky
The Pact's great aerial assault on Mordremoth ends in disaster as Mordrem and corrupted sylvari sabotage the airships from within; the fleet falls into the Heart of Maguuma with catastrophic losses.
The Pact launched its long-prepared offensive, its airships sailing over the Heart of Maguuma to strike at Mordremoth directly. The assault was a catastrophe. Mordrem swarmed the fleet while sylvari who had heard and answered Mordremoth's call turned on their comrades, becoming the Mordrem Guard and sabotaging the ships from inside.
The armada was torn apart and scattered across the jungle canopy, costing the Pact vast numbers of soldiers and machines. The Commander survived the crash and began to rally the broken survivors deep in the jungle — the grim opening of the campaign that Heart of Thorns would carry to its end.
