A deadly bombing exposes the Aetherblades, sky pirates backed by Inquest technology; the heroes storm their hideout and capture their leader, Captain Mai Trin.
When a bomb killed bystanders in Lion's Arch, the investigation led the heroes to the Aetherblades, pirates flying airships powered by Inquest-engineered technology. Pursuing the trail, the heroes assaulted the pirates' hidden retreat and took their captain, Mai Trin, prisoner.
Mai Trin's interrogation hinted at a mysterious benefactor pulling the Aetherblades' strings, another of the alliances that Scarlet Briar had been knitting together in secret as she prepared her assault on Tyria.
