Caudecus turns the White Mantle against Kryta

The cult's ambitions burst into the open in 1329 AE when Minister Caudecus Beetlestone — long Queen Jennah's rival in the Ministry — fled the Royal Palace and was unmasked in Bloodstone Fen as the Confessor of the White Mantle. He proclaimed his intent to take the Krytan throne by force.

Marshalling White Mantle warbands, bandits, and bloodstone-maddened centaurs, Caudecus struck at Divinity's Reach and the lands around it, destabilising Jennah's reign and igniting a civil war. The conflict was tangled further by the deception surrounding Lazarus the Dire, whose supposed resurrection split the Mantle against itself.
