The assault on Zhaitan fails; the mursaat feel betrayed

UndatedContested

The mursaat and Forgotten throw armies of jade constructs and enchanted armors against the Elder Dragon Zhaitan, but the Seers withdraw their forces to forge magic-storing artifacts instead. The attack fails with heavy mursaat and Forgotten casualties.

When the elder races could not agree how to face the Elder Dragons, the mursaat and the Forgotten forged armies of powerful constructs — jade constructs and enchanted armors — to destroy the dragons, while the Seers, dwarves, and jotun refused to fight. At the Seer leader Sidony's behest the Seers instead withdrew to forge the Shadowstone and the Bloodstone to seal away the world's remaining magic, and the dwarves and jotun likewise gave no aid.

The mursaat and Forgotten assaulted Zhaitan and failed, losing many of their number. Feeling betrayed by their allies' desertion, the mursaat refused to surrender their magic into the Bloodstone and instead used their shadowcraft to slip beneath the skin of the world, out of phase with Tyria. The Forgotten withdrew to what is now the Crystal Desert. The mursaat vowed never to forgive the other elder races.
