An exiled Krytan gambler, Saul D'Alessio, is saved in the wilds by godlike beings — the Mursaat — and returns to found the White Mantle, whose followers rally a Kryta beset by the Charr and the human guilds.
Exiled from Kryta and wandering the forests in delirium, the disgraced gambler Saul D'Alessio was rescued by mysterious, godlike beings he proclaimed Kryta's saviors — in truth the Mursaat, the Unseen Ones. He returned to found the White Mantle around 1067 AE, just as Kryta reeled under war with the Charr and the human guilds. With the Mursaat's hidden power the Mantle helped drive back the Charr, and in the chaos after the Searing they seized control of Kryta — secretly feeding its Chosen to the Bloodstone to sustain the Mursaat.
