Cantha

The earliest known human settlement rises in Cantha

The Six Gods bring humans, who are not native to Tyria, to the northern coastline of Cantha, the earliest known human settlement in the world; later settlers spread into the Echovald Forest and along the Jade Sea. Cantha's humans long predate those of the Tyrian continent.

Humans are not native to the world of Tyria: the Six Gods brought them "from elsewhere", having themselves first arrived at the Artesian Waters in Orr. The earliest known human settlement is the northern coast of Cantha, around 786 BE, the first recorded human foothold, though not necessarily the first place humanity set foot. Cantha's settlers spread inland to the Echovald Forest and the shores of what would become the Jade Sea, and their civilization long predates the humans who reach the Tyrian continent centuries later.
