The Pale Tree awakens her Firstborn — the first twelve sylvari, among them Trahearne and Caithe — bringing an entirely new sapient race into Tyria, raised on the values of the Ventari Tablet.
In 1302 AE the Pale Tree awakened along the Tarnished Coast, bringing forth her Firstborn: the first twelve sylvari, plant-born people shaped by the dreams of the Tree and the creed of the Ventari Tablet. Trahearne of the Cycle of Dusk was the very first; Caithe and the other Firstborn followed. A second generation, the Secondborn, awoke two years later, and sylvari have emerged in ever greater numbers since — a young race destined to play a decisive part against the Elder Dragons, for some are secretly the Soundless scions of Mordremoth.
