Shiro returns and the Affliction sweeps Cantha

Two centuries after his death-wail became the Jade Wind, Shiro Tagachi returns and looses the Affliction on Cantha; Master Togo summons the monk Mhenlo from Tyria, and the corrupted dragon Kuunavang is freed.

The "present day" of Guild Wars Factions. Roughly two hundred years earlier, the assassin Shiro Tagachi was slain at the Harvest Festival; his death-wail became the Jade Wind, a wave of energy that turned much of southern Cantha to stone and crystal. Now returned as an Envoy from the netherworld, Shiro unleashes the Afflicted upon the land — a horror the Canthan people mistake for a monstrous plague. Master Togo sends for his former student Mhenlo, who answers the call from Tyria. In the Unwaking Waters the Luxons and Kurzicks must unite to free the celestial dragon Kuunavang, corrupted by Shiro’s influence, and turn her power against him. The crisis plays out in the same year as the fulfillment of the Flameseeker Prophecies an ocean away in Tyria.
