Varesh Ossa brings about Nightfall in service of the fallen god Abaddon; the god is slain, Kormir ascends as the Goddess of Truth, and the undead lord Palawa Joko is freed from his imprisonment.
The "present day" of Guild Wars Nightfall. The Kournan general Varesh Ossa works to bring about Nightfall, the apocalyptic design of the imprisoned god Abaddon — the same dark power that had bound the dead of the Cataclysm to the Realm of Torment. Heroes pursue Varesh into the Realm of Torment itself, where Abaddon is at last slain. In the wake of his fall, the spymaster Kormir ascends into godhood as the Goddess of Truth, taking up the dominion the broken god left vacant. Amid the upheaval the ancient undead lord Palawa Joko is set free from the prison that had held him for centuries.
