Shiro Tagachi's death triggers the Jade Wind
After assassinating Emperor Angsiyan at the Harvest Temple, the traitor Shiro Tagachi is cut down — and his dying wail unleashes the Jade Wind, turning the Jade Sea to solid jade and petrifying the Echovald Forest.
In 872 AE the emperor's bodyguard Shiro Tagachi, fearing a prophecy of his own death, murdered Emperor Angsiyan at the floating Harvest Temple. The heroes Saint Viktor, Archemorus, and Vizu struck him down in turn — but in the instant before he died Shiro loosed a wail that released the magic within him, the Jade Wind. The wave froze the Bay of Sirens into the solid Jade Sea, petrified the great Echovald Forest and everything in it, sank the Harvest Temple, and corrupted the Saltspray dragons. Two centuries later Shiro would return as an Envoy-defying spirit to plague Cantha again.
