The undead lord Palawa Joko marches an army of Awakened out of the Desolation into Elona, overrunning most of the wealthy province of Vabbi; his conquest wins him the enduring title Scourge of Vabbi.
Palawa Joko first enters the record in 757 AE (957 DR), when he raised the Bone Palace as his seat of power deep in the Desolation. He gathered strength there for a century, and in 860 AE (1060 DR) he loosed hordes of Awakened — dead soldiers torn from ancient tombs — to expand his domain.
His armies swept over most of Vabbi, subjugating the province and branding him forever as the Scourge of Vabbi. The conquest would not go unanswered: within a few years the Kournan warmarshal Turai Ossa rallied Elona's survivors to challenge him.
