The Second Treaty of Lion’s Arch formalizes trade

1071 AE1,581 CC1,271 DRFirm date

Resurgent commerce between the Canthan Empire and the war-battered Tyrian kingdoms is formally ratified in the Second Treaty of Lion’s Arch.

Trade between Cantha and the Tyrian kingdoms had been informally re-established in 1022 AE after a long suspension. In 1071 AE, with Ascalon freshly devastated by the Searing, that commerce was formally ratified through the Second Treaty of Lion’s Arch, cementing the maritime trade relationship between the southern Empire and the recovering north. The treaty reflects how the catastrophe in Tyria reshaped its dealings with the wider world.
