The Pact destroys Zhaitan above Arah
After a grinding campaign through Orr that severs Zhaitan's supply lines and starves it of magic, the Pact airship The Glory of Tyria engages the weakened Elder Dragon above the ruined city of Arah and brings it crashing down — the first Elder Dragon ever slain.
Following the fall of Claw Island, the Pact under Trahearne and the Pact Commander drove into Orr, the drowned kingdom Zhaitan had raised in 1219 AE during the Rising of Orr. They systematically cut the dragon's supply lines, slew its Risen lieutenants, hunted down the Eyes and Mouths of Zhaitan that gave it sight and fed it magic, and cleansed the Artesian Waters that were its chief source of power — opening the way to Arah, the fallen City of the Gods, where Zhaitan roosted.
The Pact airship The Glory of Tyria, built from the engineering secrets of every race and crewed by a reunited Destiny's Edge alongside the Commander, engaged the weakened dragon in 1326 AE. Battering it with anti-Elder-Dragon cannons developed from Professor Gorr's research, the ship crippled Zhaitan and sent it plummeting to its death on the eastern edge of Arah. It was the first Elder Dragon ever killed — but the magic released by its death began to empower the other dragons and to change surviving Risen champions like Tequatl the Sunless.
