Kralkatorrik wakes and burns the Dragonbrand
The Elder Crystal Dragon Kralkatorrik awakens and flies south over the charr territory of Ascalon to hunt down his treacherous scion Glint, scorching a swath of crystalline corruption — the Dragonbrand — across the land.
Roused by his awareness of Glint's betrayal, Kralkatorrik, the Elder Dragon of crystal, woke in 1320 AE and took flight across Ascalon in pursuit of his runaway scion. A storm of energy churned around the dragon, and everywhere his golden breath fell the land turned black and crystalline. This blasted scar became known as the Dragonbrand.
Plants, animals, elementals, and people caught in the dragon's passage were warped into the crystalline minions called the Branded. Among them were Chief Kronon's ogres and the warband of the charr Legionnaire Almorra Soulkeeper. As Kralkatorrik soared past Ebonhawke, his presence brushed the mind of Queen Jennah of Kryta in a moment of terror — the first of many consequences to ripple out from the Crystal Dragon's rising.
