    Around 10,000 BE the last of the giganticus lupicus, the Great Giants, disappear from the Tyrian continent, a disappearance that coincides with the last rising of the Elder Dragons and is believed to have been caused by them.

    Zhaitan's dragon champion Blightghast the Plaguebringer leads a Risen fleet against Claw Island, overrunning the Lionguard and threatening Lion's Arch; in response, Tyria's three great orders bury their rivalries and form the Pact under Trahearne and the Pact Commander.
